I would like to make an addition to this. I have found that most employers have no idea they need to notify the place that issued the work permit of the students employment within 5 days of hiring. On the PA Abstract of the Child Labor Act Hours Provisions LLC-5 sheet, it states the following:
“Within five days of the minor’s beginning of employment, an Employer’s must submit written notification of the minor’s normal duties and employment hours, the minor’s age and the work permit number to the issuing officer who issued that work permit. Within five days of the minor’s last day of employment, the employer shall submit written notification to the issuing officer that the minor is no longer employed.”
Having a form that is generated by the information already in Jobready360 that could be printed out and then sent in to the issuing site would really help companies stay in compliance with the labor laws. I will “rough one up” and see if I can make it work. This could be used across the state as it is a requirement for any minor employed.
