Student Applications - Add functionality to meet MA state requirement needs
Massachusetts vocational schools are now required to implement a weighted lottery-based admissions system, effective immediately.
Students can receive up to four "weights" in the lottery:
1 weight for a completed application (including proof-of-residency)
1 weight for behavior
1 weight for attendance
1 weight for student interest (submitting an audio/video presentation, personal essay, letter of recommendation by non-family member)
Platform Requirements:
Student/Guardian Accounts: Applicants should also be able to view how many weights they earned.
Lottery drawing must be recorded live and announced 2 weeks in advance.
Middle School Guidance Counselor Accounts: Based on the school an applicant attends, their guidance counselor will log in and indicate “yes” or “no” for eligibility for the attendance and behavior weights.
Video Collection: We need the ability to collect and manage video submissions from applicants. These will not be evaluated but must be reviewed and marked complete.
Solution must be in place by September, but ideally mid-August so we have time to test and refine.

“To answer your question, each "weight" criteria increases the applicant's selection chances by giving them another entry.”

Add weight number to custom questions and counselor information. Use that info for the lottery. Custom questions should get that weight if the question is submitted or not empty. Only allow lottery weight for Yes/No in counselor information.
Awaiting feedback to figure out what the algorithm is.
