Show/hide menu items based on security permission instead of user type
It would be helpful if users who don't have permissions to certain areas to not be able to see them. For example, if there are staff users that only have the Student View role, they shouldn't see tasks, or settings, documents, or schedule.

This is not actually the case. If a user does not have access to a specific page, they do not see the menu item. However, the staff role has too much permission by default without any other roles set which is the actual root cause of this issue. There is already another post open in the system for this.
