Modernize/Combine Professionalism (Cosmetology) Hours & Project-Based WBL Hours

Currently, there is some overlap in capabilities and features, but none of the available solutions provide all the desired options in one place.

Ultimately, Cosmetology instructors want to be able to do the following:

• Allow Students to Clock In/Out to record hours but with the ability to set multiple roles for hours tracked (ie. 1 hr of hair, 1.5 hrs of nails, etc.) for each time slot.

  • Should be option in mobile app or via web interface

  • Possibly add support for a badge/biometric scanner

• Allow teachers to be able to set hours for a student/group

• Generate the State Board of Cosmetology report

• Students should be able to reflect on experiences

• WBL Hours for Cooperative Education / Internships should also count toward licensure hour requirements.

• Students can’t self report or reflect on experiences

• No Clock In/Out capability

• WBL hours are not included in State Board report hours

• Students can Clock In/Out to self report and reflect

• No teacher bulk entry

• Can’t segment hours by role

• Can’t generate State Board of Cosmetology Report

Project-Based WBL Pros:

• Teachers can assign hours in bulk by Student Groups

• Can segment hours by roles
