FlexEditor: Plus sign removed from Custom Quiz activity directions text

FlexEditor issue in draft lesson titled "Academics in Action: 3D Printing Technician"

When I use a plus sign in the directions text of a Custom Quiz activity in FlexEditor, it is removed in the preview and as well as when I return to editing mode. The plus sign shows in other activities (ex: Lesson Introduction). This is a bug, but I'm not allowed to submit a ticket (error message says "You cannot create issues on this project.").
