  • Components:

    • Domain 1: Classroom Strategies and Behaviors

    • Domain 2: Planning and Preparing

    • Domain 3: Reflecting on Teaching

    • Domain 4: Collegiality and Professionalism

  • Strengths: Emphasizes student achievement; uses observation rubrics and scales.


3. Charlotte Danielson’s Framework + Student Learning Objectives (SLOs)

  • Focus: Combines instructional practice with measurable student outcomes.

  • Strengths: Good for states/districts emphasizing teacher impact on student growth.


4. Stronge Teacher Effectiveness Performance Evaluation System

  • Focus: Teacher behaviors and performance standards, including student progress.

  • Standards Include: Professional knowledge, instructional planning, instructional delivery, assessment, learning environment, professionalism, student progress.


5. McREL Teacher Evaluation System

  • Focus: Based on research about effective teaching and leadership practices.

  • Standards: Leadership, instructional planning, positive environment, professionalism, student growth.


6. State-Specific Models (e.g., Texas T-TESS, Georgia TKES, New York APPR)

  • Some states have customized versions based on national models or have unique frameworks:

    • T-TESS (Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System)
