For instance, the student might write something like this:

“Taking AP Biology and AP Chemistry is really important, as they will give me a head start on the foundational courses I'll need at a university like UW-Madison. I chose Anatomy & Physiology as an elective because it directly relates to my career interests. I also decided to take AP Psychology because understanding animal behavior is a big part of veterinary medicine, and I think learning about the principles of behavior will be really interesting and helpful.

While my main focus is on STEM, I'm continuing with Spanish through my junior year and taking AP English and History classes to show that I'm a well-rounded student. I also kept Digital Art in my schedule because it's my main creative outlet and a great way to de-stress from my other challenging classes. I feel like this plan is a good mix of everything I need to do to reach my goals and everything I want to do to enjoy my time in high school.”
