Come up with a solution for admin/staff/teachers that are also guardians

Feature Suggestions

This has come up more frequently now and makes having guardians complete forms difficult. However, the only real solution is to completely overhaul how users are granted access to all areas of the application. This is a major change so it would take a significant amount of effort to complete.

    This issue is one that we do now eventually plan to address so I'm placing it in Planned status. However, due to it's complexity and value/effort score it may be ranked much lower than other feature requests and take a considerable amount of time until it is addressed.

    Joan,

    To allow 1 individual to have more than one account type would require a near re-write of the core part of our application and is not feasible at this time.

    However, I think we can accommodate your use cases by other means. First would be addressing the issue of creating accounts using secondary email addresses which was documented here: https://feedback.eduready360.com/p/parent-contact-email-address-is-not-pulling-all-options-from-sis. Another solution is manually create a Guardian record for these users. They only stipulation here is that the same email address cannot be used.

    Please RE-OPEN this request.

    Our SIS contains BOTH personal & district emails for individuals. As we have several staff that are also parents in the district & prefer to have student emails sent to their personal account.

    I understand the way it is now - Users can only have one account type. You sync teachers first so a Teacher account type would be created, then when processing Guardians, it is ignored because a user was already a teacher. 

    a. What would it take to allow 1 individual more than one account type?

    b. Please consider the following cases that WILL continue to cause problems in EduReady due to this limitation.

    1. Staff that have children in EduReady WBLs (NON EduReady Admin)

    We have in our district cases where there is a Single Mom who works in our district.

    She DOES have both a personal email & district email.

    But NEITHER show in the Guardians section. It is as if this Single Mom does not exist as a guardian at all.

    Message me directly for a specific example.

    Would the forms have to be signed via Hardcopy in this case & manually entered electronically by the coordinator in order to be included in reporting?

    How would this parent login to view their student/s progress. Unable to send a “reset password” option since they do NOT appear on the Guardians screen.

    1. Staff that are EduReady Admins & have children with EduReady WBLS.

      That would be me & a co-worker.
      That means, assuming I have a spouse, I would have to forego my need as a parent to be considered for signing off on forms or being communicated to via EduReady.

      Could I still be manually assigned to the form signer if I do not appear in the Guardians list?

    Basically, this is not really possible. The guardian should be stored in the SIS using their personal email. This is really the only way it works for us.
